When it comes to staying safe, our senses of sight, smell, taste, touch and
hearing are very important. Bear in mind not everyone has all five senses and
so the world can seem a very dangerous place.

WHAT DOES DISABILITY MEAN?

Do you know someone who is disabled in your family, school or community?
Draw some pictures to show how you help to make everyone feel good and
included in your community.

With your friends list all your favourite games, then select one which you can
discuss...

RULES ACTIONS RESULTS/REWARDS

Illustrate your ideas showing how a boy/girl who is disabled (e.g. needs to use
a wheelchair) may play the game and have an equal opportunity to win.

REMEMBER, EVERYONE IS UNIQUE!

When helping people with disabilities you must remember that they can
probably cope very well themselves. If they ask you for help then it is good to
do what you can for them. But do not just think that because a person is
disabled you always need to help them across the road, or you have the right to
give them advice they may not need or want. Disabled people simply want to
be treated with the respect that everyone deserves.
